Greenland’s Ice Wave Surf Competition 2033

Proud with his past and as a proven decision-maker, Amil planed his next move. Nobody believed him, but it was what he needed to start.

The background in Mathematics helped him to combine, prepare and analyze open data from CNSA (China National Space Administration) and NASA¹ to predict windows in the weather forecast where the weather will cause ice melting and big iceblocks will cause extreme big waves. His business experience uncovers the opportunity to expand in this direction and to prepare the organization of first Greenland’s Ice Wave Surf Competition in 2033 in Disko Bay².

Yes, Greenland will be the most exciting destination for adventurers all around the world in 3 years when we will get full control over nature and natural energy harvesting.

Years ago, he made some investments in 3 organizations and managed to connect their R&D teams to prototype together. In his hands, he had the plans and the resources for 5 co-living spaces³ running on energy-positive construction⁴.

Recently, ITER⁵ proved the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our Sun and stars. They decided to continue as a public company, and Amil was one of the first that bought shares. Now his bet was if the company will be fast enough to support his plans.

It took years of exploration and preparation — more than some people might think.

Amil means “Hopeful”

To always keep the hope was part of Amil’s DNA. He was one of the refugees who managed to escape the political and humanitarian crisis in Morocco back at the beginning of the last decade. Amil was a brilliant student in Mathematics and a talented surfer from a reputable family.

He worked as a professor at the university and spent all his free time on the beach. The most important thing for him was to make friends.

He enjoyed this peaceful life for only 5 years. With the spread of the desert sand and the political changes, everything changed. The administration made budget cuts, and no one was hiring people anymore in the next 2 years. Amil, like many others, became jobless and soon homeless.

A Refugee

It took him full 7 years to settle down in Sweden. A good friend in Stockholm, where he found his new home together with his family after 4 years of a nightmare-ish EU journey, recommended him to his cousin, who was a Senior HRM at Erricson. They liked his experience as a surfer and hired him as a trainer of their corporate surfing team. There was an annual international competition among the big companies which was very prestigious. Erricson wanted to win the first place.

The Surf school was located in Torö Stenstrand, near Nynäshamn, just south of Stockholm. Amil managed to build a five stars’ team from a C-level people, working at the company. He created powerful and strong connections with his new colleagues and learned a lot about the business world from them.

De-growth

Amil became a good friend with the mayor of the Danish city of Klitmøller. In recent years the town was branded with the name “Cold Hawaii” and hosted one of the leading surf competitions in the North. “Cold wave surfing” was still undeveloped as a sport, and Amil was eager to re-define it and bring new values with it.

He decided to create his own School for leadership and surfing at Klitmøller where together with other famous social and business leaders he would teach the next wave of young entrepreneurs how to develop the new world with a focus on sustainability.

He already knew how to motivate people and how to find them. He also knew that the people that will be attracted to his program are very unique.

They were believers like him — outstanding, eccentric, and tough leaders of change; believing in de-growth as a mindset and willing to live a nature-neutral life and lead a network-powered teal-organizations⁶. That was part of his brand and philosophy, too.

For the pilot edition of the First summer school, he managed to attract 1200 participants.

Greenland

Two hundred of the participants in the Surfing school were invited to live for one week in Greenland. They were provided with all they need by the locals who for hundreds of years demonstrated the ability to adopt the new post-Airbnb services. Their community leaders also contributed to the Amil’s program as teachers and shared good practices and observations.

The participants managed to develop tools to measure the levels of some chemicals in the air and in the water and predicted successfully the model of animal migrations, wind, and climate change.

For the rest of the participants, the pilot program was remote⁷. Locals, equipped with cellular⁸ polar suits⁹ follow their remote instructions. They showed them unique places in Greenland and presented local rituals.

For Amil, the program that his team developed following his passion was a promising platform and a great foundation for progress in protecting the Earth’s and Mars’s climate and conduct more advanced researches for sustainable life on other potential exo-planets.
